The U.S. Health Care System is Terrible, In 1 Enraging Chart

http://www.aufamily.com/forums/topic/135092-the-us-health-care-system-is-terrible-in-1-enraging-chart/. Due 9 December 2013. Read the graph and discuss the implications of our current health care system. Is it a big deal?? What solutions would you suggest to fix our health care system? Is health care a "right" in the U.S. Constitution?? Should the government be involved in fixing the health care system?

  1. Our health care system is obviously terrible according to the chart. Yes, it is a huge deal because we are spending way too much for some people to be receiving so poor health care and others, nothing at all. My solutions that I would suggest to fix our health care system would be to set tighter budget. Also, we could start by paying the doctors by the quality of their health care. That way they will want to provide better health care to the sick because they have the incentives to, and also that would help our economy. Perhaps, we could lower interest rates at an reasonable level. I don't think that health care is a right in the U.S. Constitution but I believe it should be because we all, honestly, need it somehow. Indeed, the government should be involved in fixing the health care system because there needs to be some laws and regulations set to help our economy grow and stop our excessive spending.

  2. According to the graph discussed in the article our current health care system is a big deal. The fact that we are one of the most developed countries global and rank 46 out of 48 of the most developed country with the worst health care system is a shame. I would suggest cutting costs of the health care system and government as stated in the article. The fact that the government intervention is occurring in the states is one rationale for the reason why we lack in this area. I believe that health care is a right in the Constitution, in the Preamble it states that the purpose is to “promote the general welfare of people”. But I feel as if the government should not be AS involved in fixing our healthcare system because in other countries they have no government intervention and they are well plotted on the graph. Yes they suffer in other areas compared to the US but they are not spending as much money as we are to maintain such a horrible system. There are situations where they should intervene, such as dire emergencies, but other than that they should not have any interference.

  3. According to the graph from the current article, our health care system is doing worse than what we normally expect it to be. This is a big deal because we are spending so much money on health care, and our life expectancy isn't as high as other countries; it almost comes off as having a deficit within our health care system. And because we are ranked 46 out of 48 within the developed economies, something has to change. A solution would be to cut down spending and use some of it towards education or national parks and etc., that way money can be used rather than wasted and going towards no one. Also, I feel that everyone needs to pay for health insurance on their own terms just as if it was car insurance, and that is when the government can step in to allow to make it affordable so it can get the job done in a smart, healthy manner.

  4. According to the graph from the article, our health care is a big deal. Based on the graph among the biggest countries, the U.S spends far and away more on health care than any other. Although it has among the lowest life expectancies of any developed country. Aaron Caroll professor at the Indianna University school of medicine state that what bothers him is the fact that we are all alone; we are spending far more than anyone else. Health care isn't exactly a "right" of the constitution, the constitution state that it promotes welfare but does not provide for it. It shouln't be that difficult to fix our health care system if we take the right step in fixing it, the fact that health care operates in a private system can change to publicly funded. In order for the government to step in to help provide for it.

  5. The graph was made to show the people that read it there there is a problem with our health care right now and of course its a big a deal. Out of most countries we spend the most money on health insurance and still our life expectancy isn't as high as them. You know there is a problem when we are ranked 46 out of 48 of the the countries of life expectancy, something terrible needs to be fixed. One way it can be fixed is by tightening our budget on it and making sure we by the necessities first.

  6. According to the graph the american health care system is very messed up. on the graph it shows that the U.S spends far and away more on health care than any other country. Even though it has some of the lowest life expectancy of any country. This is due to the fact that its built for profit. i think that if our health care system would change from being privatized to public and government be involved that it we would see a bigger change for the better in the healthcare system.

  7. I think the real problem is that we are spending all this money and we are so low in the health care efficiency listing, the of the major problems we should fix is the way the system is set up we are in a built for profit system that we have, the U.S.A is spending all this money but it is not showing anything positive in our health care system. We should really change our mind set and help people get health care instead all the health care is seen as a way to make some money which is not right.

  8. Our health care is obviously a very big deal. It pertains to all of us and there is a huge amount of money being spent on health care. The lack of government regulation lets people charge as much as they want which makes the system extremely expensive. If everything is based on making a profit, then our health care system will never be as efficient as it should be. Health care isn't a right of the Constitution, but it is still imperative for people to have it, in case an emergency happens. I think that the government should regulate the amount people are actually charging for health care because without some regulation, it will continue to get worst.

  9. Based on the graph illustrated in the article, our health care system is doing significantly worse than what is normally expected. This is a rather important issue compared to what other people think because we are spending so much money on health care, and our life expectancy isn't as high as other countries; it almost comes off as having a deficit within our health care system. Since we are ranked 46 out of 48 within the other developed economies, something has to change drastically in order to fix this. A possible solution to this problem would be to cut down our spending and to put some of it towards education or national parks and etc., this way the money can be used rather than wasted and going towards no one. In my opinion, I just think that everyone needs to pay for health insurance on their own terms just as if it was car insurance, and that is when the government can step in to make it affordable so it can get the job done in a smart, healthy manner.

  10. Our health care is a big deal! we are the only ones that spend so much money on health care, even though we have the lowest life expectancy than in any other developed country. I believe we should cut down our cost on health care. other countries are spending so much less on health care and they are well put as the graph shows. Health Care isn't a right in the constitution, but I do believe it is necessary. but just because it's necessary doesn't mean we should spend so much money on Health Care. I think the government should step in to to help regulate our Health Care system. even though in the other countries there isn't as much Government intervention, and they look pretty stable in their health care system.

  11. The heath care system in the United States is a big deal. The fact that we are one of the most developed countries in the word but does not have a fair and efficient system is bad. We are spending so much money on health care, and our life expectancy isn't as high as other countries. Solutions I would suggest to fix our health care problem would be to cut spending in areas such as military and start investing them into the health system so that prices of things like insurance become more affordable but the government does not regulate it. I believe that health care is a right for every person but is not enforced in the Constitution, it is up to the individual to decide if he/she wants it or not. The government should not be involved in fixing our healthcare system because it is a private system the the government should not control it, in other countries they have no government intervention and they have good systems.

  12. According to the graph the implications of our current health care system is plain awful. We pay so much for health care but yet were the ones who die the fastest. Yes it is a big deal and I think to help fix our health care system would be nationalizing a data base system so test will not be repeated when patients go to new doctors or switch doctors. That could save us money from having to take another MRI or X-ray for example. Health care is not a "right" in the U.S. Constitution, patients have the ability to receive health care in public facilities. The government should not be involved in fixing the health care system because I feel private business are more efficient and are able to adjust faster to changes in the economic environment.

  13. According to the graph, the U.S health care system isn't up to par. We pay almost twice as much as any other developed country yet have a slightly lower life expectancy. I believe it has a large part to do with the "American life style." America ranks 46 of 48 in health care efficency, and this inefficiency needs to change if we wan't to keep up with the rest of the world in health care system. This could be changed by opening more government health care offices. I believe that health care isn't a right in the U.S but the government should help out to give people health insurance. Obamacare is a great example of the type of help the government should give.

  14. According to the graph, our health care system is in poor shape. This is a big deal because of the high amount we spend on health care, and because our average life expectancy is not as high as many other countries. Not only that, but we are ranked as the 46th country out of 48 developed countries. One solution is that we could cut spending to use the money on other things instead. Also, we should make it publicly funded instead of private. This will allow the government to help pay for it and possibly make them realize its importance.

  15. Our diminishing health care system is a big deal! According to the graph, the United States is currently ranked number 46 out of 48 developed countries to have the worst health care system. Endless quantities of money is going into the system but for what? Our life expectancy is not as high as other countries and most of that money is not even coming to us. So why invest so much money into a system that would not benefit us? My solution would be to increase government spending on the rebuilding of our education system or building monuments to increase employment. Therefore, I would know where my money was going to and I would feel comfortable that it will be beneficial to everyone. Health care is not s right in the Constitution, but it is necessary to the government system to support people in the economy. The government should have SOME part in regulating the health care system. Other countries have no regulation from their government and their health care systems are doing just fine but without some government intervention, our system will continue to diminish.

  16. The current health care system in the united states is very bad according to the information provided in the chart from the article. The simple fact that one of the most developed country in the world is ranked 46 out of 48 in health care seems to be a very big deal. The government jumping into the states and changing laws regarding health care is major factor in why the US is ranked so low. I personally believe that health care is something that should be guaranteed to all regardless of situation. It is constituted that everyone should receive health care. The government should step back in their ruling on health care due to fact other countries are doing fine without government intervention regarding health care. I believe government should only intervene on extreme emergenicies.

  18. Based on the graph, we can see that our health care system isnt good at all. This is a big deal because we are shoveling out thousands of dollars for health care and we cant even secure as high a life expectancy as some other countries. I think we should cut some of our defense funds and put that money into healthcare to improve it. Technically, health care isnt a right, but it is important to have. The government should take a hand in fixing the health care system because if everyone dies because of poor health care, who will be left for them to govern over?

  19. According to the graph, our health care is withering down. This is a huge deal, we are spending so much money on health care and yet we seem to have the one of the lowest life expectancies in the country. Something is wrong there and something needs to be done. The government should regulate the amount of money that people are charging for health care. The government needs to realize the importance of the health care system and stop worrying just about what is going on in their home. Although health care isn't a right, it is people's lives. No one should be expected to pay the thousands of dollars that the hospitals are charging for simple procedures. The government should take the health care problem seriously, people are dying left and right.

  21. Our health care is extremely important, and according to the graph it seems that the US is not doing what its suppose to. We are the only country that is so far apart. Not only that, but we are ranked 46 out of 48 out of the developed countries, how is it that we get to spend so much money with an inadequate health care system? We assume that the health care plans are being adjusted to be affordable, however the graph tells us otherwise. A solution to this, is that the budget will have to be adjusted. Cutting off in some of the other areas, such as the military, and let be put towards the health care system. The government shouldn't have to regulate this. The government has plenty to regulate.

  22. It is a big deal! If you were planning on living long and healthy life. To see that the US, considered to be one of the top developed countries, and to have one of the lowest life expectancy among them, it's a bit disturbing. The only possible solution to fixing this health care system is the cut spending in certain areas, but not only that, but ensure that the money actually gets put to good use in the healthcare industry. Health care isn't a "right" in the US constitution, but it might as well be. The government needs to take care of their people, it's somewhat mandatory that they partake in the health care system. So yes, the government should and needs to be apart of fixing the health care system.

  23. Yes, the health care system is indeed a big deal, the U.S. spends far and away more on health care than any other. And yet it has among the lowest life expectancies of any developed country. The united states ranks 46th out of 48 developed economies in health-care system. In order to fix the health care issue, i would say to control the amount of money that people are spending on health care. I dont think that health care should be a right, but everyone should have a type of health care if you want to live longer, obviously.

  24. According to the graph shown in the article, our current welfare system isn't doing well at all. Taking into account that we are one of the most developed nations this a very big deal, especially since we are spending much more than we should on health care. Evidently, one of the solutions I would suggest would be a drastic cut in health care. Such results like these should not be received considering the amount of money put into it. No, health care is not a right however; I feel as if it should be and the arrival of obamacare is taking care of that. . Such results like these clearly state that there is a deficit within the system. Government should look for that deficit and work to make it better. Government interference isn't highly praised but when we're spending all this money just to have earlier life expectancy it is something we must learn to accept.

  25. The graph in this article really shows the difference in the amount of spending in health care between different countries. Our health care system is actually not as bad as it seems, the issue here is that we are spending way too much for health care and it's outrageously expensive to have, that is why there are so many people without any health insurance because they just simply can't afford it. The way the system is built is basically set up in a way that benefits the producer not the consumer because they are making so much profit. The constitution does state in protecting the general well being of the citizens and I think healthcare falls into that category of things that are needed to protect the people from diseases and sickness. I'm not in expert in health care but I think a great solution would be to find a better way to set up the system, reduce spending and make it more affordable for the everyday citizen. I think the government should interfere a little in helping re-create the system but no too much.

  26. According to the chart, our health care system is terrible. It is a very big deal because we're supposed to have one of the best health care system but we don't. The U.S. spends far and away more on health care than any other but it has the lowest life expectancies of any developed countries. Our system is so terrible because it is built on profits. In order to fix our health care system we need to stop depending on the government or for someone or country to rescue us and start making a plan to make our health care system better. I think that health care is a right thing because if we didn't have it a lot more people would have died. I think the government should get involved in the health care problem because we have the lowest life expectancies and more people are suffering and dying everyday because of it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. America has the worst health care system among developed countries even though we spend the most on it. This is a big problem because the old people are suffering for it and its because our system is built for profit. The government needs to start caring for the elderly citizens and take part in making a more safe and secure health care system. Even though its not in the constitution, health care is a right that all citizens deserve and it's the government's responsibility to provide it.

  28. First of all N.Korea has a better health care system then we do (supposedly). But what does that tell you? It tells you that the money we spend on healthcare is a joke. No one necessarily needs health care but its more of a benefit than anything else. Also, you have to take into consideration of the governments system. 'It aint like it was before". Just because its someone's opinion that the government should do this or do that is an understatement. If you want something done, then its best to get it done on your own. Don't care about the other guy, just care about yourself and for the ones around you. Thats how I feel about it (in a way). In reference to the chart, our health care system is terrible and quite honestly I believe we should not have a health care system. I believe that the gov shouldn't have any say in our personal lives.. Leave that up for to us to determine...

  29. If you look at the graph, our health care system is a huge deal. We have the worst health care system as a developed county. The cost of government spending and health care system should be cut. In my opinion, the government should not be as involved as they are; the people should be allowed to express their own opinions. In the constitution, the people have their own right to promote welfare. Too much government intervention is unnecessary. As stated on the graph, all the countries with minimal government intervention are doing well. In other words, they are not wasting so much money like we are on a worthless system. Overall, government should try to avoid interfering.

  30. According do the graph, health care is a big deal. The US spends more than any other country on health care. To fix our health care system I think that the money being put into the system should be reallocated and the necessities for life expectancy to improve need to be determined. Once we find out what will increase life expectancy, the money should be put there. I think that health care is a right in the Constitution. However, I do believe that the government should stay out of fixing the health care system because the moment they get involved, more money will be poured in and wasted on trying to fix it.

  31. It is more then apparent that our healthcare system is doing terrible, and this chart reaffirms that.It says we are 46 out of 48 among developed economies. couple this With the the Price we are paying for Healthcare, and you can see our system is failing.

  32. This chart is just another way of showing how terrible our health care system is. I consider our health care system a very big deal because we are paying far, far more, for health care then anyone else. If youre going to charge people this much compared to others, I suggest bigger and better things would need to be done which sadly isnt the case. I consider health care a right in the constitution, and I believe government should not be involved in fixing the problems with our health care since it will only cost more and more money to fix, which is gonna make more problems

  33. The problem that the U.S healthcare system has is that, it involves a lot of government spending. The graph shows how much of an outlier the U.S is to every other country. No country in the world spends as much money on healthcare & still we have the lowest life expectancy. Health care is not a right in the constitution and I don't think there should be any government intervention. However, the reform Obama signed will help many Americans but almost hurt others. People will start paying more for coverage that'll really help their neighbor or something. The health care system is becoming very expensive to serve a larger pool of people & I'm sure Americans are very mad about that.

  34. Based on the graph in the article, our health care system is doing worse than expected. We are spending so much money on health care, but our life expectancy isn't as high as other countries. There is clearly a flaw in our system. We are ranked 46 out of 48 of the other developed economies. A drastic change is the only thing I believe can change this. A possible solution to this problem would be to cut down our spending on healthcare and put the money saved towards other things, such as infrastructure, this way the money can be used rather than wasted. In my opinion, I think that everyone needs to pay for health insurance, and that way, the rates can have a possibility of coming down. This way, health care can be orchestrated in a more beneficial manner.

  35. I believe that the fact that are current health care system is so inefficient is a big deal. To fix the health care system I would have nationalize health care system like in the France or the U.K., where all health care cost are paid by the government. I don't believe health care is a "right" in the U.S. but all people should be able to vote on the system they want. The U.S should get involved in fixing the health care system.

  36. Of course our healthcare is a big deal. Our healthcare system is embarrassing. As one of the most developed countries, our healthcare system needs to be better. Healthcare like we are making it, is not supposed to be used for profit. Our problem is that we as a nation are spending too much and the government is taking no responsibility in improving our system. Like many of the European countries, the U.S. should make healthcare a must. That way, everyone can have healthcare. Although it is each individual's responsibility to provide for heir own health, the government still need to step up and figure the best plan for the country.
